Disney’s RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON (Review in ASL)

Transcripts: My daughter, Ember and I got VIP Free tickets to a screening of Disney’s new movie “RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON”! I knew instantly that Disney Lover little girl would be the one to take to see the movie. I was so excited to see a childhood favorite brought to life. You know when you are little and you think with all your heart that all things are possible… where you travel into fantasy world? That is what this story is all about to me along with Hope, Possibility, Hard Work, Respect, and Forgiveness.

With all the wonderful colors, there is still a very real story line…. I think Disney sums it up best: “The film draws much inspiration from Southeast Asian culture, from mythology to traditional martial arts. Unsurprisingly, the upcoming film is being compared to Avatar: The Last Airbender, which is basically the best animated show ever.”

(In the film where Ember showed sign name for ‘Raya’ and explained why as it is because she has sword, martial arts, and last dragon into one sign language as name her Raya. Circle sign language which is where you needs to find out by see the movie! Ember said she liked that movie and it was good!)

My daughter found the movie entertaining and funny. She loved the characters and thought they were very fun to follow along. The sense of adventure was her favorite part just like “Frozen 1 and 2 plus Moana” She went from feeling the characters frustration to laughing out loud! I on the other hand was truly fascinated by the animation. I knew I was watching an animated movie, but the details left you feeling like you were in a real world that doesn’t exist in your normal life. I could almost feel the drops of water as they fell to the ground when it rained.

You can see the different dimensions that are used to create the effect of depth. After seeing this movie you will leave feeling like you just had an amazing adventure yourself. This is a total feel good movie! I would recommend this movie for a mature 4 year old and all way to an adult! This isn’t the fastest moving movie at parts, but that’s just to let you stop and enjoy the scenery….. but don’t let that stop the adventure goers from wanting to see this…. There are times you will feel like jumping out of our seat!

RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON opens today in theaters or Disney Plus.

Here is Ember’s favorite song!

I’ll be bringing you more sneak peaks in the coming days too!

I was provided a free screening of this movie by Disney PR. I was not compensated for my review. All opinions are my own and my daughter.
