Kris (my husband), Ember (of course my KODA daughter), and I made the trip south to Highland Ranch one hour before race start. It was very cold which it was between 35 to 50-ish and I thank god it wasn’t snow!
Everyone are wearing green which I love it. Love those vibes with so many Ireland dancer and bands there.
After we started and we ran. I went slow as planned as I was excited to do that because I felt so good. Then I noticed there are a lot of up and down hills that caused me breathing a little harder as I just recovered from my fever for few days with coughs. Mostly of hills are like 4% grade which is mini mountain, haha! So I decided to walk during up hill then run downhill of course, and then we entered a trail after first mile and almost to one and half mile where there are water stop. I wasn’t pay attention what I am running on. There I go slipped from ice which it hits my right hip and it sure do hurts. People behind me stopped and picked me up asking if I was ok. I told them I am all good and I kept run toward to water stop to drink and breathing.
As I had to walk then run then walk a few time with uphill and downhill. I saw the finish line I tried to run but my hip hurts then I walked a little then saw Kris and Ember there so I pushed myself to run to finish line so there I passed the finish line.
So I am ok with my fall just a nagging pain in back of my right hip. I have another 5K race in two weeks! GULP!
